Online Business Simulations?
Has anyone used any good online business simulations that they'd like to share? I'm familiar with lemonade stand but haven't used it in class because our Intro to Business class uses that simulation.
One of the simulations I came across this fall and had hoped to use in February/March is a Team Challenge game sponsored by Deloitte & Scholastic. The website is http://www.virtualteamchallenge.com. It looks very well done and involves teams of 4 students, each with a pre-assigned role, competing against each other in a service-business environment. They even provide monetary prizes (quite large, I might add) to the winning team. The simulation runs for 4-weeks once a year, so you need to plan ahead. It also requires students to be able to participate via the internet and outlines the connectivity, etc. necessary to support the game. Unfortunately, our district's security and firewall are such that we were unable to participate this year. I'm hoping to appeal to the administration and get their support for next year. If anyone has used it I'd love to hear first-hand feedback regarding how it went.
